The Projects

Over a number of years, The Edgeley Construction team carried out around 400 refurbishments to convert spacious but outdated Victorian houses into contemporary apartments, while restoring the building and retaining original features.

Delivering the projects on a design and build basis, the Edgeley Construction team designed each development to maximise the potential of the property by adding basement and loft conversions, along with extensions. The developments ranged in size and scope from three to six units, depending on the size of the original property, and all included structural works, remodelling and repairs/upgrades to the building fabric.

The Programmes

For all projects, the Edgeley Construction team carried out all design and pre-construction requirements, including discharge of any planning requirements and all party wall agreements. All properties were located within a residential area, so the site team had to work with local residents to minimise disruption through careful planning of work schedules and logistics.

Each property was stripped out prior to commencement of construction works, which in most cases included basement and loft conversion construction and fit out, rear extensions and side return extensions.

New mechanical, electrical and plumbing services were installed for each project to update the property in line with building regulations and answer the requirements of the new layout. 

Windows were replaced and facades were cleaned and repaired. Roofs were also upgraded, in-keeping with the local built environment and the age of the property, as part of the loft conversion element of the project.

All interior fit out and decoration was also included in each project to deliver finished apartments in move-in condition.

Every project was delivered entirely by Edgeley Construction’s in-house team, including all design, project management and trades, often with several projects on site concurrently.
